Syrena McKay, LSW

Education:  Ms. McKay has a Master's Degree in Social work, Aurora University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology. Ms. McKay is a Licensed Social Worker.

Client Base: Ms. McKay has a passion for working with children, teens, and young adults who have depression, anxiety, school refusal, trauma, attachment/relationship issues, ADHD, and LGBTQ+ related topics. Ms.McKay has experience working with children involved in Foster care and DCFS. Ms.McKay also provides therapeutic services at Virtual Connections Academy.

Therapeutic Approach: Ms.McKay approaches each child, teen, or young adult's session by being mindful of all the factors of their life. Ms.McKay enjoys providing a safe and affirming environment while also incorporating client's interests such as art or sports. Ms.McKay uses numerous interventions such as Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, mindfulness, and family systems.​
