Client Base: Dr. Johnson specializes in working with children and adolescents, and their families. She has a passion for working with individuals and families with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Dr. Johnson has experience working in therapeutic day schools, public education, non-profit organizations, and private clinics. Given Dr. Johnson’s background in education, she also enjoys supporting family-school partnerships and consulting on ways to provide the best possible support for students.
Therapeutic Approach: Dr. Johnson provides a person-centered approach to care, working to build a therapeutic alliance marked by trust, respect, and empathy. Dr. Johnson evaluates concerns through a systematic lens (e.g., family, school, community, society), working to achieve a comprehensive understanding of a person as a whole. Dr. Johnson also takes a strengths-based approach to therapy and assessment, working to identify areas of strength despite areas of difficulty.
